A few months ago I bought a mini 3 pro as a starter drone for a business I wanted to start. However later I found out that in order to do commerce with drones in South Africa you need a RPL (remote pilots licence) which makes sence. A few days ago I went for the pilots licence medical that you have to get before applying for drone school. Everything was fine but I failed the colour blindness test. Why is colour blindness a thing with drones??? Makes no sence. Now they want to make me go to Pretoria and do expensive tests (the only place in S.A. where such tests can be done) to see whats what. Needles to say this is a rant and Im fuming about it, here we live in a country where unemployment is a huge problem and these people gate guarding new employment opportunities. The original doctor that did my medical hinted that it was corruption, which makes sence. Does anyone know someone that can help? Is it even worth getting an RPL in South Africa?
