So I did some tests with 30 FPS on the Mini 3 using ND256 / 64 / No ND filter. (Camera set to Auto  D-LOG with LUT applied)

I also did another test using NO ND filter but 60FPS. (Camera set to Auto D-LOG with LUT applied)


All of the 30FPS videos have a what looks them to me.  

I know I did a spin fast to make it as bad as possible on all videos... But it was my understanding ND filters would fix this and I would get the benifits of 30FPS greater color depth with the HQ ability.  But I really don't like the studder I see so whiel I like the color look of the ND filters I can't handle the studder in the videos.  

Please tell me what I am doing wrong because I am sure it is likely something I am doing but I have never been totally happy with 30 FPS videos from any DJI drone because of this studder that I see.

I tried using Optical flow to add inbetween frames on 30FPS video and make them 60 FPS... Here...

You need to slow down your drown moves.    Slow and gentle will give you the best results.

Yes I understand.  I was just doing an example to show that ND filters don't fix this issue as much as just shooting in 60 fps will.

They were both equally as bad.    ND filters aren't designed to fix this kind of move.

Your problem is more that your camera setting is on auto.  Try it in manual mode. the shutter speed must be twice the frame rate. If frame rate is 30 FPS the shutter speed must be 1/60 (60 FPS 1/120) If the image is too bright - Stronger ND filter. If you follow these rules, the videos will be smooth

I did try that after and didn't see any change sadly.

The jitter is entirely due to frame rate and yaw rate.  Reducing yaw rate or increasing frame rate is only way to control it.

I think this is one of the best videos explaining it (you have to watch it on Youtube, he disable watching on other sites)
