Any help would be much appreciated.

   Downloaded the air 2 firmware for RID and it shows the correct firmware update but, there is no RID serial number. I have the smart controller and updated the firmware for that also. Does anyone have any ideas? I also refreshed the firmware after install and still nothing. Am I missing something? RC firmware is 01.01.0072. Aircraft firmware is 01.01.1600. Any help is appreciated. Updated through DJI assistant 2.

Hello there. Sorry about the inconvenience.  Please, make sure that your Fly app is also on the latest firmware. You can also confirm that your RID is functioning well by using the controller to start the motors, then use the WLAN of your cell phone or tablet to scan the Remote ID serial number broadcast by the drone at a location close to the drone, if you can see a string always prefixed with “RID-” followed by a 20-digit alphanumeric Remote ID serial number in the "Available networks", it means that the Remote ID is broadcasting properly.
