I went out and set the app to photo mode, flew up and took a few. I got back in and put the sd card in and i don't see any. What gives?

Are you getting DNG files??

when you land and before you turn off everything go on the app and download the pictures from the library  try that

I figured it out. I hit the button the ipad to take the pic not on the controller. Works fine now.

You should be able to use the top right (or maybe top left) button on the controller as well.  One is to start/stop video, the other is to take still photos...

Depends on the phantom version - the standard does not have this
