Hello,

I checked my Avata , it is updated to the latest Firmware v 01.03.00.00.

I am getting since last week an error message on two of my batteries, "Battery capacity not updated for extended period"

My Avata is one year old and I haven't used it much, is this normal ?

how should I fix this issue ? it seems that the charging - discharge won't solve the problem.

hope you can help me solving this issue...

thanks

Hi there. Thank you for reaching out and we're sorry for the trouble. Please try the following troubleshooting steps below to further rectify the issue.

1. Please discharge the battery to less than 10% and let the battery sit for 1 hour, then fully charge and let it sit for 1 more hour, check if the prompt still exists;
2. Please insert this battery into the aircraft and refresh the aircraft firmware again via DJI Assistant 2;

Please keep us posted. Thank you.

should you let it sit connected to the charger after it is charged? Or unplug it and let it sit?

Hello, BadBert. You need to discharge the battery to less than 10% and unplug it then let it sit for 1 hour to fully discharge the battery. After that, fully charge the battery and let it sit for another 1 more hour to check if the error message still persists. Hope this helps. Thank you.

yes, i understand, but what you don't mention, is AFTER CHARGING, do i let it sit for an hour plugged in, or unplug it after charging.

My questions was what to do AFTER CHARGING ;)

Sorry for the misunderstanding. You need to unplug it once it is already fully charged. Hope this helps.

Some say after discharging to less than 10%…let it sit half hour; others say let it sit one hour. Which is it, DJI?

I think it's save to say the correct answer is one hour.

Hi, tson. Please let it sit for an hour after discharging it and then charge it again and leave the battery detached for another hour. Have a nice day.

I have 3 batteries and I fly (maybe) once every couple months. Can't you guys at DJI come up with a better way to recalibrate these batteries?

Hello I purchased the Avata about a month after its release and I began to have this problem with one battery, upon researching forums and reading posts I saw it was a reoccurig issue that was happening over and over again. I have been a DJI customer since the release of the original Mavic Pro and I have purchased the Mavic Pro,  Mavic Pro 2, Mavic Air, Mavic Air 2, Air 2S, Avata, all the gimbals you have made and sold and I am a bit concerned this issue isnt being addressed to your loyal customer of why is it even happening? Originally they told us to fly under 10% let sit for half hour, charge and let sit for half hour then fly. I tried this over and over and over and over and to. no avail. NOW EVERY SINGLE BATTERY FOR THE DRONE DONES THIS?? I will attempt the newest "fix" to let sit one hour and everything else.. I even had a service tcket to send the entire machine in to have the batery looked at  and I suppose if I had to do it again, For all intensive purposes it flies great no problems...etc however being that a battery is a single point of failure I do take anything  with my battery seriously. Ok I will keep my eye on this forum and hopefully you all can come up with a firmwaere update that will fix it.  I absolutely do have to commend the company on how far you have come with opening your Fort Worth Service Center for the US customers, I remeber back in the day there was literally  no such thing as custojer service with  Dustomer Service at DJI. Now you guys have a done a great job stick with it.

I refined the way I was discharging my batteries, and I am able to fully charge them now. You have to use the drone to COMPLETELY discharge the battery and noy just let it go until the drone lands. The battery needs to be taken down in charge as low as you possibly can or it will not charge to 100% again and you will get the error. What a convoluted thing to have to do!

I wonder if DJI (or someone else) makes a device, let's call it a battery maintainer, that will discharge then fully recharge your avata batteries without having to put them in your drone. I only fly, maybe, an hour or so every few months and this is a pain having to put each battery (I have 3) in the drone, let it sit there with the motors running until the thing completely drains them and stops the rotors ... all so I can charge them again before I can go fly with fully charged batteries.

Hi there. Sorry, DJI does not have equipment that can automatically discharge and charge for a long time.

However, before storage, please make sure that the remaining battery level is at least 60%. It is recommended to charge and discharge the battery once every three months to improve battery performance.

If the battery level is below 60%, it is recommended to charge it until it is 60% before storage.

If the battery level is above 70%, the battery will discharge automatically on the 9th day to about 60%.

If you have other questions, please feel free to contact us.
