They can be very hit or miss.    Have you tried any of the apps that try to predict a good sunrise or sunset.

No.  I'm awash with Apps as it is - and I'm not really an avid cloud chaser.

I experimented with them for a while and whilst if they scored really high it was a good sign,  they would often miss some of the good ones,   in the end Ive pretty much got bored with them.

Cheers.   Windy here today but we climbed a tor and I wanted a shot or two.   sent the drone up and at one point Im commanding forward flight and it was literally going backwards.    But good ol Mini 3 came back to me for a hand grab landing.

Can't beat the performance of the little Mini 3 Pro.  Small but quite the little beast.  Just be careful with the wind and hand catching or else the bill of your cap might take a beating like happened to me.

Thats the nice thing with the new drones,   due to the EU the props are softer and have rubber tips to protect against that.

That would be nice.  However, here they are stiff and sharp.  Of course that could be because I use Master AirScrew props exclusively.

I think thats the Master air screw props for you,  the Mini 3/4 and Mavics all use a global propellor.

Fortunately, the FAA hasn't incorporated any restrictions on drone props yet.

Did you see the post on here about the guy in the US who replaced his Mavic 3 props with the harder Mavic 3 enterprise props and he reckons better noise and longer flight times.

I did see that reply.  I get lower noise levels with the MAS props but haven't noticed a huge difference in the flying times. Of course with the extended batteries on the Mini 3 Pro I get plenty of flying time anyway.

ive been flying in the wind a lot whilst away and I really found it sucked even the plus batteries quickly.

No doubt the battery level drops quicker with the small motors and props having to work so hard to beat the winds into submission.

I had a couple of time when the drone just didnt have the grunt to fight the wind,   and one time it was actually going backwards until I dropped height to get some shelter from a rock formation.

I've had a few times where the motors were at max speed in Sport's mode fighting a head wind and you could see the battery level dropping quickly.  When possible I fly out into the wind and return with the wind behind the drone.  Not always possible but I try.  Would be nice if the winds weren't so gusty lately.

Ive given up using sports mode in wind on the Mini 3,  mine just goes to battery overload too quickly.  Unlike the Mavic where it really helps fight the wind.

I guess I've been lucky then as I have only seen one battery overload warning. I try to make sure I have 20% battery remaining when I land.  One time the winds came up out of nowhere and the return trip was against the wind the entire way so when I landed I was at 8% battery and that was after switching to normal mode to try and conserve battery.  Too close for comfort and I was doubting it would make it back for the last 3 minutes of the flight.

I sure DJI keep changing the message as on some firmwares the drone will just grind to a halt without a warning and then you update and a warning comes again.

I got my first battery nag about 200 charges.  I guess there isn't anyway to disable that nag.

Mine started at 180 cycles,  and Ive not found any way to get rid of it,  and it makes reviewing logs a pain as its constantly being logged in there too.

I get why they have the nag but we should be able to acknowledge it and then it doesn't reappear. It is a pain to see it repeating in the logs for sure.

There used to be a way to reset the cycle count on the dji batteries but Ive not yet found a solution for the mini3 batteries.

I dont think you could reset the cycle count,  all the solutions Ive seen so far need a little usb dongle to do it.

I have 212 charges on one off the batteries and it is showing no signs of bulging or loss of power so I'll just keep putting up the with nag.
