I think that's fair. It will start getting cold soon and it will be fun to return when the snow covers it all. The fox tracks will be so much more evident but I'll be able to keep flying till we get down to below -30F which is kind of my cut off. Luckily I have a few more months before the drones have to go to into hibernation. First the mini which I put away at -20F, then the avata, then the my other drones that seem to handle -30F with no real problem and surprisingly little loss of flight time.

I don't know how you fly in the kind of cold. That's dedication.

You're very welcome. The time and effort you put in has provided some impressive shots and footage. Hope you are having a great week.
Much appreciated. It's cloudy so I just sit in the closet and moan...
humorously my first quick reading was "...-40F..." and I thought, "Well, mine too" then I saw it was 40F...
So here I am with a buddy trying to see what the Mavic 3 battery life would be at -40F. He didn't bother with gloves but yeah...after 15min he was hurting. When I fly in the winter I wear a pair of thin polypro gloves and yeah...my hands were plenty cold. I'm not so tough as my buddy LOL.

That's a good capture of the are especially before winter gets started.
Got to hand it to those flat tailed web footed little builders; I hope the lodge has central heating.
You just haven't waited long enough. Eventually your hands cool off and they mold in whatever position you leave them in. They turn nice shade of white and you no longer need worry about making large movements with the control sticks. Later after you warm them you get to enjoy watching them change color to a shade of black and then those pesky fingernails are no longer such a hassle. Just give it time . Although that is mostly a joke...they can kinda take a "set" when they get cold enough LOL.

I hear you on the weather issue. The weather this year has been quite different here in Florida. It hasn't followed nay of the "normal" patterns lately.
That got a chuckle from me. You might have noted I titled it "Fall" and didn't do so with any particular intent but I did think of it as a late Fall day, not even approaching cold. We've had -75F at our house so I guess "cold" takes on a different meaning. LOL. Here's a cold day...it was -25F and blowing 25mph. In fact I landed the drone and the wind immediately blew snow right into it's face, packing it into every crevice. That was the end of flying for the day and now I never leave with just one drone... The second video was also a cold day. -20F or so with 25mph winds. The FPV handled with wind with no problem and cold never seems to be much of an issue. In this, the second video you can see the heavy ice encrusted trees being moved by the strong wind. The snow there is so compacted that you get no drift off the ground. Lastly here is my buddy flying with bare hands at -40F to test battery time. About 15min with Mavic 3 at -40F.
