I am using a T-30 intelligent battery charger on 220 volts with both power supplies plugged in.When it tries to fast charge it powers off and has a battery cell over temp fault.

I know the battery is not hot as it had to slow charge for a few minutes before it went to fast charge.
It pulls around 32 amps on shop power when fast charging but cuts off before it gets there on the generator.
The generator is a Duromax 12000 watt surge 9500 running watt generator.
I load tested it and it puts out over 30 amps and holds 60hz and 240 volts so size should not be an issue.
Any Ideas?

What's going on, the charger faulting or the generator breaker switching over?

The charger is faulting.  Could it be THD?

I think yes.
You would have to look at the signal with an oscilloscope. The problem can also come from the generator voltage regulator which is not doing its job. Once again; an oscilloscope is necessary, because with a multimeter good luck seeing the voltage peak.

I don't know how the filtering stage is built in the charger. But i guess yes because for instance in my country house has 3 phases 380V 50HZ. If you want 2 time 220V at 16A you definatly need to take 2 phases. So it is certain that the current is out of phase. I've never heard anyone complain about it.

It seems logical to me that each circuit has its own filtration and converter. The merge must take place at the level of the DC stage.
