Maybe you can also use this if you want to record music at a festival. Theretically the volume would be similar. It is possible that the sound is not suitable for this purpose, as it is intended more for recording the voice in the helmet. I'll look at that point too.

I will think it will work as good as other adapter in all cases, and having the ability for longer record with charging is a pluss.

It looks like it is intended to replace the door that covers the USB-C port on the camera.

Thanks for the translation. Yes, it looks that way, but there doesn't seem to be any waterproofing. However, it wouldn't really be helpful because there are still two open ports.

Yes, it reminds me of the cynova adapter for the original OA1. I have a couple of those. Makes me wonder if they are compatible with the OA4 to allow for analog mics and charge at the same time. What would your intended purpose for this adapter be for if you don't mind me asking?

The adapter is advertised for motorcycling but I think there will be even more useful applications. Basically anything that has to do with a noisy environment. I'll test it out in great detail, maybe I'll even go to a concert again.

Unfortunately, the Osmo Action 1 adapters are not compatible with the Osmo Action 4, the assignment of the USB C adapter is different.

I suppose that answers that question. Saved me some time in trying to find where I stored those things. Much appreciated!!

I think we'll have to wait until November... It's a shame that it won't be so easy to test the adapter on the motorcycle when its cold.

Seems its available to add to cart on the US DJI website:
https://store.dji.com/product/os ... -153591=&vid=153591
Seems charging is only supported when a microphone is in use?? Not sure I understand that move

I thought the same thing too... Interesting move. Maybe the reason for this is that it is not “misused” for other purposes.

I didn't find any references to this, but it would make sense because they also built something similar for Insta.

I have now completed my first tests with the DJI Osmo Action Audio Adapter and I am very happy with the results.
The video is in German but there are subtitles.

First of all, thanks for your testing. I believe your video helps lots of user including me.
But I'm not sure if I understand correctly...

According to 3:59~4:50 in English subtitle, the test result is DJI Audio Adapter can use on both OSMO Action 3 and OSMO Action 4?Same as rest of 3 products, right?

Also, I'm just wondering...
Have you ever tried OSMO Action 3/4 use the GoPro adapter(AAMIC-001) or NFlightCAM(SKU 556S) for recording ?

Cause I'm going to take some flying lessons in the US next year and I would like to record the audio from the ATC, but all the solution I found is for GoPro instead of DJI...

First I want to say that I'm very happy that the video is helpful.
To your questions: The Osmo Action Audio Adapter can be used on both the Osmo Action 3 and the 4. With the 3 it only solves the problem with distorted sound with microphones that are too sensitive. There are alternatives for this part but I haven't found any that work as well. Unfortunately, simultaneous charging does not work with the Osmo Action 3, it is not supported by the Osmo Action 3! This is also the reason why DJI has declared the adapter only for the Osmo Actio 4.
For the Osmo Action 4, this adapter should outperform anything else that can be connected to the USB-C port.
Regarding your second question: You can't connect the GoPro adapter to the Osmo Action 3/4, you don't need that either. If you plug the 3.5mm plug of the NFlightCAM cable into the Osmo Action Audio Adapter, it should work perfectly. (Both adapters are TRS)

I found something when evaluating my last video which no one has reported yet.
The Osmo Action 4 has a limiter/compressor. I'll try out what we can do with it and whether it helps us.
If you have already experimented with it, I would be very interested in your results.

I got the adapter also, and the recording level is too low for anything other than in a helmet.  If you turn the gain up on the camera it introduces extra noise.
They really need to have an adapter with normal gain levels.   While I can use a splitter and a Boya by-k4 it does cause some strain on the USB C port on the camera.
The adapter is slightly bulky also and the 3.5mm port is on the front which if you want to use a mini mic with dead cat causes the dead cat to be in frame, if the they had better placement of the ports on the adapter that might have helped.

If it helps you in any way, the USB C port on the Osmo Action Audio Adapter simply passes the signal through.

Yep, I tried that and while it works it had the nasty side effect of making it stick out the side way to far...
I also tried increasing the gain on the camera but it adds a lot of noise/hiss to the audio.
It's great it works for motor vlogging and no one else  but would be nice if DJI had cynova make a normal version.
The adapter is nice as it locks in and protects the USB port from strain.
