Motionlapse with the pocket 3....

Had a play with the pocket 3 motion lapse at the same time as having a little flight in the sun,  sadly the forum wouldnt let me upload it on the go

Seems Lightcut exports an MOV file but the forum only wants MP4.

I do like a motion lapse and the pocket 3 has a nice little built in option to automatically pan left to right or right to left without having to spend the time setting the spots although you can do that too.

I found a service called cloud convert that will convert it back to an MP4 but Ive not yet tried the mobile upload again.

Yes,   I will have a play next time Im walking with it.   It would be really nice to be able to motion lapse,  download to the phone, edit and upload whilst still out on the go.

Have you tried light cut?   It's quite simple if you are using their templates.

No. I really need to be sat relaxed infront of the laptop with a coffee to do anything like that.

The templates take the thinking out of it a lot. you can just select one or more clips and tap through the templates to see how it will look.

It's the fiddling about on the phone I don't like. I'm all fingers and thumbs, and frequently press the wrong button.

I saw that option, almost like waypoints for a drone.  I'm still trying out everything I can find in the menus.

The motionlapse options are very similar to what they did on the Osmo Mobile,  so they felt familiar to me.

On the last port visit to Naples we had over 20 sailors come back to the ship to report their wallet and military ID was stolen.  I always kept mine in my front pocket and that seemed to work well.  Two of the ship's rental cars were broken into and various items stolen from it.

I've been there several times over the years on port visits and it was always the same.  The only redeeming grace was to take the train down to the Sorrento and go the Cameo factory and have a nice meal.  Otherwise, I was ready to get underway and head to the next port of call.

Totally night and day different from Naples.  

Did you add the motion speed changes on purpose, or just added multiple points with different distances (so it changes speed).
And did you create the TL in post, or used the default, as it seems to flicker a lot, which I always correct in Davinci. (when creating the TL from the DNG files)

It all came out of the light cut template,   it added the flashing at the beginning and the speed ramps.

Oh ok. It feels a bit like the cheesy transitions most consumer video editors have.

Yes,   I was trying to test the feasibility of filming a lapse,  editing it on the go and uploading the video to the forum using the new video upload feature.   Sadly I failed on the last point from my phone.

I think the DNG quality output is so much better than the MOV it creates, it's not worth doing anything with that MOV.
Maybe it's better with the P3, but I would have to see a direct comparison.

The movie files from the P3 are huge, a 1:15s motion lapse is about 1gb

I'm curious about a comparison between a DNG exported and converted TL (with color correction of course) and the baked in MOV.

I need to see if theres a setting for that,    I dont recall seeing it.

There should be an option to export the single DNG files.
Or at least, I assume there is.
As there is on the P2.
