Is the maximum exposure time of Osmo Pocket 3 really limited to one second or will this be fixed in a firmware update?

DJI Pocket 2 at least supported exposures of up to eight seconds.

Now we have a much better sensor with higer image quality, but it's really useless for long exposures or night (sky) time lapses due to the exposure time limitation. Such a shame!

Excellent request.  I 2nd having longer exposure time.

1' needs no more time. ;o) Of curse it's definitely to short.

I would love this but assume they don’t do it for the same reason the iPhone doesn’t - overheating.

I know. But downgrading from 8 seconds (OP1 & 2) to one is a real limitation.

I took time-lapses over several hours (cold nights, mounted on tripod & connected to power bank) without OP2 heating up - neither the body nor the gimbal ...

With larger sensor OP3 *could* be the perfect device for that - it's just a pitty ...

Then why in auto mode when you set an interval higher than 2 seconds, for example 10 seconds the pocket 3 will use up to 9 seconds shutter time?

It seems we should be able to go much higher in manual mode but this is an oversight on the developers part.

I really hope you're right and they'll fix it!

In auto mode, exposure times of up to 8 seconds (10 second interval) and even 25 (30 second interval) are possible, when setting Iso-Max to 100.

However, due to the different automatic exposure times, I sometimes get a flicker. Therefore I would like to be able to manually set the shutter to more than 1 second.

The lasted firmware version makes the longest exposure 1/30… it needs to be longer not shorter DJI! - I’m now at the point of considering return the camera.
You certainly can not create light paintings as depicted on the osmo pockets 3 packaging. Pretty disappointing.

I can still go to 1 second after the latest update so I don’t think it has changed.

+1 for longer exposures.

+1 with the better low light performance, longer exposures would make astrophotography a real option!

Light paintings and star trails / image stacking is my favorite features of the GoPro Hero 11 / 12 and why I will always have a GoPro on hand for night stuff.

I hope DJI adds these features soon enough. I really love that.

Very disappointing.  I just assumed the exposure would be the same as the pocket 2 and purchased a 3 without checking.

Wow, 1 second is really limiting for many timelapses... hope they can allow the typical 30 seconds in a firmware update...

My Insta360 Ace Pro just arrived and has a maximum exposure of 120 seconds.

Definitely expected longer exposure than 1 second, was very disappointed to find out after I received mine, please extend through firmware update if possible DJI!

I agree that DJI have to fix this issue.

Here is the trick to get longer than 1s shutter speed!

You can access longer shutter speed by AUTO exposure and select fix ISO and choose fix low iso eg 50-100,50-200,50-400. choose long interval 20s, 30s ,60s etc.
then Pocket 3 will auto select longer shutter than 1s. You will get exposure as long as interval so maximum shutter speed i can get is 60s.

Assume this is still an issue? Anyone try that solution above?

I'm actually waiting to see if they can fix this in firmware before I purchase. astrophotography would the final nail in the coffin of my wallet. lol
