I don't have the P3 yet, still waiting on it. Wondering if you can have it set to the 16:9 format when the screen is flicked horizontal, and automatically switch to square format (instead of 9:16) when the screen is flicked to vertical mode. I shoot in 16:9 and 1:1 only (not 9:16).

Just checked mine.
Seems not possible.

That’s too bad - it would be great if you can flip the screen vertical and be automatically shoot in square for my needs. How do we give feedback to the company?

Yes you can manually select which format it records in regardless how the screen is set.

No. He is asking if he can preset the screen flick regards the orientation.
Flick Horizontal = 16:9
Flick Vertical = 1:1

Yup, just got the OP3 yesterday and couldn’t get square to work on the flip. What’s really cool is that square is not cropped from the 16:9 (nor is 9:16 cropped). It makes me wonder what the actual focal length is in square. Anyone know how the math works?

Same focal length.
Just it is 4:3 sensor.

You mean 5:4 sensor, correct? The aspect ratios don’t add up to 4:3
