Pocket 3: Rolling clouds

Fitting title. Love the light spots racing across the ridge. How are you moving? Or is this a digital scroll to the right?

It's pocket 3 footage with the gimbal set to move left to right over 20 minutes,  then downloaded straight to light cut to edit and uploaded from an iPad.   Sort of a mobile test.  So far I cant upload from my phone though which is more annoying.  

Nice job David.  At that speed those clouds look even more menacing. Giving way to at hint of blue sky at the end though.

That was all done with the P3,  wireless download to light cut editor for a little edit and then uploaded via iPad to the forum,   for some reason the same browser on the phone wont do it.

That's an irritation, I'm sure.  Nice result from the work-around though.

It was,   although the forum did accept a MOV file.

Hmn. I've never really taken to .mov - couldn't say why though.

Nicely captured DA.    Those were some ominous clouds.  OP3 performing really well.

No,  I didnt have any plans to,  I had ordered a wide angle filter but for some reason my order was cancelled this morning.

For motion timelapses, I think it is a must have.
They improve 100% when you can dial in a long enough shutterspeed for some motionblur.
I never make one without (unless it is dark)

I would recommend the Freewell ones.
They don't have much color shift and don't cost a ton.

The freewill VNds I have for the Mavic have been great but they are much more expensive.

These fixed ND filters are not so badly priced i think.

For daytime you need at least ND1000 to get anything close to a motion blur.

I like to move the pocket with the sun, so it stays in the frame all the time and with the ND1000 I can still get a slow enough shutterspeed for motionblur in the moving objects.

Well when It arrives I can have a go at that,   not something I had considered before,  but could be quite a nice idea.

It does not have to be exactly the same speed, but I like to move with 'something' in the sky (usually clouds or sun)

And you just guess how fast it would move or do you have a technique.

As long as it is 'the same direction' I don't really care about the exact speed.
I just like the effect.  
But sometimes I know when it will be at a certain point (like when we are in Sweden watching the same sunset multiple times) and I can try and match it.
