It's like a double insult to the drone pilots senses.  You can't fly because of the wind while it wipes away the color and beauty. Leaving us with the skeleton of nature.

I totally dig those American suburbs and towns with a ton of trees, you know?
I meaan, we've got some greenery back home, but it's just not on the same level – not as massive and ancient. That's like a cherry on top for me!

I do a roof inspection for people that want to add solar panels. I take orbits and detailed  roof shoots, then regular camera photos. Check the utilities sand I get $200.00 for an hours work. Not pretty but it helps pay for equipment,

I always wonder what that reveals, since you can't see below the first layer (if the roof is strong enough).

I think that between the rooftop shots and the attic rafter measurements they just want to make sure that you don't have to replace the roof and the structure will hold the weight of the panels

Yeah, that is my guess also, but I wonder how drone shots will help with that.

I think it's the whole package that they need. I shoot obstructions from the trees, connecting telephone poles for electricity, the meters around the house and the electrical panels , water and gas main inside. It stops them from having to send men over to survey the situation.

Yeah, that's probably a win (financially for sure)
I did a couple inspections with the drone, but did not find them very useful to be honest.
But they wanted them to be done, so hey.....

I don't think they catch the detail that a physical inspection does. But if they use thermal which I don't have you can detect leaks.

Most of the problems are invisible to a drone. But some you can spot for sure.
Thermal would be nice, although that is only useful on colder days.
