Preparing for the fireworks.....

Thought Id better do a little recon flight to check out where the firework display was going to be lauched from,   seems I got spotted checking it out.

Nice topdown shot DA.    Seems you were indeed spotted.  At least you got to explore the site before the show started.  More and more live fireworks shows here are being replaced by drone shows.

Cheers DT.  Id love to see a drone display,  I checked out the local ones and none were done that way,  it maybe related to what this event commemorates. .

It was nice to see how they setup for the event,   on the way over I spotted the bonfire and this morning I noticed the bonfire was still smoking.

Weve got some dark clouds rolling this way which is typical as I washed and polished the car this morning and got the other one back under its covers now that Ive cleaned the air filter,   Its not replaceable, instead you get a wash kit and a special red spray oil.     It would have sailed through the MOT yesterday but during the service they let me know it would fail on the number plates as they changed the rules this year and mine are no longer legal.   Got to love it when its retrospective.    Cost me £50 for new plates and they said will just stick them over the top of the existing ones so you can take them off when you get home.   Shame they would just pretend they had fitted them too.

Yes,   I was quite annoyed with the matter,  At least I have number plates,  the amount of cars around here that dont is amazing.  And the kids seem to thin motor bike helmets are optional and a balaclava is a suitable replacement.

I'm OK with that. If they break their skulls as a result at least they're improving the gene pool.

I've read on several local forums that people are split on this.  

Group 1 - Drones Are Safer, Greener, and Quieter—and Cooler!  Fireworks injured more than 10,000 people last year because they can accidentally erupt while on the ground. Drones can’t. And since light shows are required to keep the ground below the show clear, there’s no risk of a drone falling from the sky into the crowd.  Drones are also a reusable option, capable of flying potentially hundreds of shows before they even require maintenance.

Group 2 - Traditional fireworks are cheaper than a drone show.  A small, short drone show costs a little over $25K whereas a fireworks show costs about $6K.  Bursts of flashing light and booming sound from fireworks help mark some of our most important events.
