Pendennis Castle 360 Pano

It was so windy I was surprised how well this one came out.

Brilliant 360 DA.    Does appear the winds had zero effect on getting the 360.  

I was just doing a little reading and there is quite the history behind that castle.  Interesting that it was still being used in WW II.

Cheers DT.     We had a lot of wind on that trip and quite often the panos wouldn’t complete with wind warnings.   

I’m just pleased the Skypixel upgrade is finished so I can get these uploaded.

During ww2 it was really common for these sites to get reused as they had been built in the best places for defence.

That did come out remarkably well if it was so windy.  Auto-stitching or manual?

That was auto stitched by the drone,   and it was very very windy,   I was doing your trick and sheltering in the boot of the car from the carpark.    Quite a few of the panos I took down there aborted due to the wind moving the drone.

Yes, of course but being able to fly at all is still good enough for me when I'm on a trip and don't have time to go back there each day for a week...

You're very welcome DA.  I'm thinking with your trip being near the coast line that probably added to the daily winds.

No sense in trying to reinvent the wheel so to speak.  With them being in strategic locations just a little mod here and there probably helped also.

Not really,  it was pretty consistent and raining during that flight.

Its amazing how much is still left from ww2,  in this area we have a lot of pill boxes,    mostly they are left alone and the ones you see in farmers fields they still work around them rather than removing them.

Chatting to some of the locals whilst we were there it seems it's almost always breezy in that part of Britain.

Not ideal,  but I wasnt going to be back there again for a long while,   sadly places like Lands End were just too windy to fly,  I took off there and hovered a moment and then grabbed and flipped it quick before it was gone.

We've got conditions like that here at the moment. Storm has blown up from nowhere.

No doubt they would be expensive to tear down and get rid of the materials.  Better just to leave them in place.  The USAF abandoned some of the underground missile silos and people bought them and converted them into living spaces.  I guess that is one way to repurpose an old missile silo.  Not where I'd want to live but seems it works for many.

Much like the constant winds in the Key West area.  I've never been down there that it was windy or really gusty.  I guess that is because you have the mixing of winds coming off the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic Ocean.

Another day of rain here today,   got up at 4:45 looked out and it was dry,  showered,   quick expresso and then the heavens opened. .  This is not helping my 10.8 mile apple challenge this month.

Dang, no doubt that messed up your normal morning routine.  The weather can easily put a damper on meeting or exceeding your Apple watch challenge.

My concern for living in those old missile silos would be if they are still listed as active targets by Russia.  With an aged dictator in charge who knows what could trigger him to press the panic button and unleash a holocaust that nobody survives.

Nice that the watch provides a motivator or monthly challenge for you.  Too bad it doesn't take into account the weather when it comes up with the challenges.
