Was off a ways making a shot. Coming back about 40 ft above me. I was standing on the highest spot around. Suddenly, the image went black & white, and the screen said contact has been lost.

I figured it would be returning home. Waited, waited... Gave up after about half an hour.

Today, I found the spot where it lost contact using Find my drone and spent about half an hour looking around. No wreckage or remains, just a cow pie. Tall grassy spot, now tramped down by bare feet.

Anyone have a spare Air 2 laying around? I have the remote and 2 batteries.

Wonder if an owl suffering acute polystyrene deficiency grabbed it out of the air.

Knowing the age of the Air2 I'm assuming that you no longer had Care Refresh on it so that it quite the loss.  Not sure about your area but I've seen quite a few listed on Facebook Marketplace for $375 and up.

You might consider the Air 3 as it is a really nice upgrade over the Air 2 and Air 2S.

I lost my drone once in a field of tall grass with a few low bushes scattered around. My wife found it right where contact had been lost, caught on the low branch of a bush and hidden by the grass, but she had to be right on top of it to see it. I had walked past it a couple of times without spotting it, so don't give up the search yet. Best of luck in finding it.

I think the battery disconnected. It was a bit swelled. Should have got rid of it instead of flying it.
