Ок, I'll explain - in WW2 Bulgaria did not send a single soldier to fight but was on the side of Germany and Americans decided to bomb the capital (no military) - Spisarevski was protecting the city with his fighter and ram the lead bomber crushing it down and died falling on this place - so they rise this cross in memory of his sacrifice to protect civilians. So I brought my little daughter to visit and had a nice walk. Interesting fact - there monument in Sofia for dead American pilots bombing it
