Hi DJI

Just a suggestion about having the pre-existing aux light on the drone to have a strobe function in addition to constant on? Primarily to aid in night flying. I am located in Canada and I don't believe there are any rules against strobes on drones. I understand it wouldn't be as bright as a dedicated strobe but it will be cool and easier to see the drone with city lights in the background compared to the current aux light only having a constant on feature

To DJI, a strobe might mean just another failure point to be covered if it stops working.  Since it is not required by law, DJI has the option but with so many aftermarket choices, not sure why they would add it.  Maybe in the future but for now, it's a little complex to integrate.

I don’t think you understand. It doesn’t require different hardware. I meant using the pre-existing AUX LED but to have an additional strobe feature. Just a software change ☺️

Yes maybe I am missing what you are asking.  Here's a current description of what the status lights are used for so you get an ideas of their purpose(s).  Using this format, what are is your suggestion?

Excellent suggestion, just a few lines of code would easily make the white "landing" light strobe.

This won't affect the <250g, all the add on strobes push it over 250g.

He is talking about the Mini4pro white led that aids in landing when ambient light is low.

Oh ok, the light that is used to assist the downward vision system.  My guess is a strobe feature will interfere with it's proper operation.  Right now, it is on or off and you can do this manually or automatically.  Unfortunately this light does not double as an aid in night flying so I don't suspect DJI will add in that feature.  It will probably take a law for DJI to include legal strobe lights with all the functions (color, timing, range, brightness, etc) so they probably won't want to go part-way with a light that wasn't intended for it.

I can only hope. It wouldn’t affect the vision system at a certain height at night (likely above 7m) but might take unite a bit of research on DJI's part to determine which country can allow strobe functionality legally
