Kinda surprised how quiet this forum is.

I'm still REALLY enjoying my P1.  
Getting lots of excellent videos and stills.

I'm using a SJ400 camera and it's superb.If the wind is nearly calm, I can get video that approaches the stability of gimbalized cameras.

Not a single mod to my P1 otherwise.  But considering a Flytrex because I'd like to know how high I'm going.

FPV is nice and all but there is some talk about eliminating FPV for safety reasons on future UAV's for hobby use.
The FAA has proposed that hobby drones MUST be flown by the "operator" unassisted by ANY device including binoculars or FPV devices.

Future Phantoms may be more like the P1 than the P3

You could be on to something, with the future Phantom thing...

Hard to phathom them eliminating the FPV from the Phantom (or all "drones").

But I do know the FAA is not keen on people being able to fly their drones such distances away and FPV is what makes that possible....along with broadcast telemetry.

Yeah that's true, I think it's a good idea to have some older technology around.
