Hi,

Could someone plase walk me through the connections for using the 3 channel follow focus with the Inspire 3? The manual for the 3cFF has no info on this at all and my initial tries are stuggling.

For example, I've tried something like this uisng the Transmit module:

Remote1 - Drone
Remote2 - camera. Camera is in MF mode.
Remote2 hooked to DJI Transmit with HDMI cable.
DJI Transmit paired in control mode with Highbright monitor that has 3 channel follow focus attached.

The monitor here shows the image from the drone, but the 3cFF has no control. Is there an easy fix?

Or maybe a wired solution? I've tried directly attaching the Remote2 (camera) to the Highbright with various combo's of HDMI and USB cables. Still not working.

Ok. Only took a few hours of trying all the possible combo's to figure out one solution.  (DJI - where is a manual for this thing?)

On the above setup if I have USB-A to USB-C attached from Remote2 to the Highbright, and ALSO an HDMI cable from Remote2 to the Highbright the 3cFF works.

So that's a wired solution. Probably best for FF lag.

Does anyone know how to hook it up with the Transmit for a wireless connection?

thanks,

Hey there, please refer to the methods below:

Connection Method : Using with a Single DJI RC Plus, DJI Three-Channel Follow Focus, and DJI Master Wheels
Preparations before Mounting
1. Ensure that the DJI High-Bright Remote Monitor is mounted with the DJI Remote Monitor Expansion Plate (to be purchased separately).
2. Ensure that the DJI High-Bright Remote Monitor is connected to DJI Three-Channel Follow Focus, and their firmware is updated to the latest versions.

Operating Steps
1. Mount the remote monitor with DJI Three-Channel Follow Focus, and then power on the remote monitor.
2. Enter System Settings and then Connection Settings, select Control Mode, set the monitor as Control Monitor B, and tap Link to Control Monitor B to enter linking status.
3. Press and hold the power button of the aircraft for more than five seconds. The aircraft beeps once indicating it is ready to link. After the app prompts that the linking is successfully, the linking is complete.
4. Use the provided RF power cable (5m) of Master Wheels to connect the DC Out port on Master Wheels and DC-IN port on the monitor expansion plate. After connection, a cable connection icon will be shown on the display of Master Wheels.
5. Enter the menu, and select any custom button as Gimbal. Take C3 button as an example, press C3 button once to to switch the control mode of Master Wheels to "Ronin 4D".
6. After connection is completed, use DJI Master Wheels to control the gimbal’s rotation, and use DJI Three-Channel Follow Focus to control the aperture, manual focus, AF/MF switching, and recording start/stop of the aircraft camera.

Explanation
1. Make sure that the focus mode is set to MF when using Three-Channel Follow Focus to control the camera focus.
2. When one DJI RC Plus is used with DJI Three-Channel Follow Focus, DJI Master Wheels, and the right hand grip of the DJI Ronin 4D, the dial on the right hand grip of the DJI Ronin 4D can control the gimbal camera for focus, and the DJI Master Wheels can control the gimbal direction.
3. The HDMI-OUT port of the DJI High-Bright Remote Monitor Expansion Plate on the DJI Three-Channel Follow Focus and the HDMI-IN port on the right side of the DJI High-Bright Remote Monitor of the DJI Master Wheels are used for connecting the HDMI cable
