Claas Dominator 76 working in Winter Barley...

Working since 1983 how many acres do you think this combine has seen? 40 years of service...not many machines could stand testament to that.

This is one of two Claas Dominators at Ian McConaghy & Son with the other one being produced in 1984.

Working 10ft at a time leaving straw very workable in the wetter environment on the North Coast of ireland.

Very cool to see,   

Not dis-similar to the one used on my neighbour's farm - but with the maize cutter attached.

It's about the only crop they cultivate to feed the cattle.

Living where we did, we were often surrounded by it. It was quite fascinating to watch the landscape change so dramatically between April and September, with the views around us gradually being obscured as it grew to well over 2 metres in height. And then dramatically revealed once more, the day of the "Ensilage".

We are where the have rivers put their sediment for such a long time.
So yeah, that is flat.
The only hills we have are from the ice age, which pushed some dirt up and in the south, close to Belgium.
