Hello,  I just downloaded the firmware for Remote ID and updated the DJI Go 4 App to the newest version, and I was curious how a person would  know if they are actaully broadcasting their Remote ID. Is there going to be an icon on the smart controller while they fly that says RID; similar to the the GPS displays in the top banner bar on the main screen? I tried looking via newtork on my phone, but didn't see it either.

Only thing I can figure is the firmware is trash and they're scrambling to fix it right now.  I don't see RID in the app at all and just like you, there's nothing being transmitted via network or the Drone Scanner apps.  Where you at, DJI???

The apps are very slow in acquiring signal. Some phones must have features enabled. I forget which one. Air Sentinel works much better for me.

Hi there. Thank you for reaching out. Kindly please use the DJI remote controller to control the drone to start the motors, then use the WLAN of your cell phone or tablet to scan the Remote ID serial number broadcast by the drone at a location close to the drone. Once you see a string always prefixed with "RID-" followed by a 20-digit alphanumeric Remote ID serial number in the "Available networks" it means that the Remote ID is broadcasting properly. Please note that since the time required for WLAN scanning of different cell phones or tablets is not consistent, it may be necessary to restart the WLAN several times to scan the Remote ID serial number broadcast by the drone. Thank you.

Good morning everyone, I read that after the firmware update, the Mavic 2 can no longer be used with the DJI GROUND STATION PRO app. Can you confirm the news for me, because I use this app regularly. Would it be possible, in this case, to downgrade the firmware?

I did all of the firmware updates to Mavic 2 Pro and Smart Controller.  I updated the DJI GO 4 app to the latest version.  I started the motors indoors and started watching the WLAN on both iphone and computer.  I didn't see a wireless lan starting with RID.  After I heard the drone say "The Home Point Has Been Updated"  I thought well maybe it can't start broadcasting until it has GPS coordinates.  I began turning off and on the wifi on iphone waiting a minute or so each time and eventially did see the RID- network with my serial number appended to it.

I updated my Mavic 2 Pro and have my Remote ID SN, but when I went to the DJI FlySafe site in order to submit my unlocking request for my next mission, it won't allow me to add that new ID SN. Why?

Is this done outside or inside? I'm guessing it is done inside connected to WiFi then outside to check if it's broadcasting. I have a Smart Controller and don't see the RID number on my IPhone or windows laptop WiFi listed networks. Thanks for your help.

It's possible to downgrade the drone with the DJI Assistant 2 (Consumer Drones Series) Application.

This is a ridiculous process. Why are these Remote IDs not listed in the About tab of the app, alongside the other SNs???

Are you TRYING to make this as difficult as possible?

Hi, having the same trouble as mentioned by posters previously.  After updating both the Mavic 2 Pro and Smart Controller I'm getting an error code 180 that prevents me from flying.  Saw advice to use the lightning browser, go to DJI site and download the Go 4 app from there, but I don't see it as any option.  Any advice?

Update:  made it through that error...now getting "Remote ID error.  Unable to take off.  Make sure DJI Fly can access mobile device location."  I'm using a smart controller.

Update 2:  Not sure how I did it.  But I did it.  I'd now like to thanks myself for talking myself through this crisis.

Hi DJI,
I downloaded the latest firmware, latest DJI GO 4 app, and followed your instruction, but can’t find the RID by WLAN broadcast.  Can’t also find it in App as well.
I’m not in US now, but will be.  Is there any other way to find my RID?  So that I can register my Mavic 2 Pro and make sure everything works before my trip to US?

Your RID is 1581F[Your regular drone serial Number]0

for example 1581F0M6DFAC0012ABC0

It's a 20 character string to use for the FAA registration.

I followed these instructions from DJI Paladin.   Finally, the remote ID signal did show up on my Iphone, but the signal comes and goes.    The signal never shows up on my 2 Crystalsky tablets (updated to the latest firmware).   I also do not see the signal on my RID scanning App, Drone Scanner.  I know that this app works because I have tested it with my Remote ID module for Inspire 2.
How can I be sure that Mavic 2 Pro Remote ID is actually broadcasting?

Well this really sucks, so it can be up to 10 or 20 minutes before you can take off, if ever!!
