A perfect day for a walk along the canal towpath at Marple.

What a great place for a leisurely walk.    I'm surprised there weren't more walkers out and about.

I noticed early in the video that the right hand side of the path had 3 rows of pavers but only on the canal side.  Any idea what that is about?

Looks Like an enjoyable walk. The Action 2 does a good job with Stablization.

Not sure. Either they're there for decoration, or the slight channel formed is for rainwater runoff.
I do like to walk there occasionally - and sometimes see a narrowboat working its way through the locks.
But they are closed for cleaning and renovation at the moment.

I love that walk. The Action2 was hung on the magnetic lanyard around my neck. There's a setting called ROCKSTEADY in the menu, which is essential for this.  STANDARD or HORIZONSTEADY are the two other options - but they produce pretty ropey results.

I've got used to accepting the up-and-down effect of walking. I've tried the ninja walk with limited success - but you get so many funny looks from passers-by that I'm dissuaded from doing it

Yes people have no idea what we have to do to get good footage.

Try this for your ninja walk. It helps take a glass of water fill it to the brim. Hold it out at arms length with both hands. Try to walk without spilling it. When you can walk without spilling you have it down. The slower the better is the key.

That's a non-starter for me.  I can't pick up any drinking vessel more than 70% full without spilling it.
I have age-related tremors ( not drink-related)

The Mastershots and other pre-programmed functions of the Mini3Pro are a boon for me.
And I use Litchi quite a bit to pre-program waypoint missions for the M2Z. Makes life easier

No doubt it would be nice to capture a boat transiting the channel.  Are the channels open year around?

I love those features. It's so much easier to use POIi instead of flying it manually. The technology is amazing.

I've not been disappointed so far, with any of my DJI kit.  Whenever things don't go to plan, when I check back and realise it's something I did wrong rather than a deficiency in the kit.
Except maybe the stitching in the 360 panos, occasionally.

Everytime I fly I can't believe the ability of these drones. Their features really make us look good. Just a little practice gets us great footage.

We all see our own flaws. No photography is perfect. The key is to spend more time editing out the imperfections which I seem to forget in my haste to get things out.

That's probably my biggest flaw too
That and not getting enough footage in order to edit down to the best few minutes.

I let someone else tell me what doesn't look good before I save it. We sometimes fall in love with a scene that doesn't mean anything to anyone else. I leave things in I should delete like fast pans or jittery subjects.

Looking back. I've probably ditched at least 2/3 of everything I've ever shot.
And of what remains, I daresay a true critic would bin off a fair bit of it.
But I keep it anway for nostalgic reasons.

I always attempt to make eye contact with everyone I pass, and give them a smile and a nod, or even a quick greeting, if they respond.  Sadly, many avoid all communication, verbal or visual.

We found up your way more people did it than here.    Many do,  especially out on the footpaths but not as many we found north of the M25.

There are a few die-hards who live on them all-year-round, I believe. But the boats tend to be moored rather than sailing about.

That would make for an interesting abode for sure.  Not sure what amenities they'd offer, but then again who knows as they might be plush inside.
