Would love to request a true 48fps framerate option via firmware upgrade to the Avata.
Here's the logic:
- If we're using the Avata's cam as our main onboard cam, we can record in 48 fps for flying then conform the footage to a true24fps timeline (not 23.976).
- A 24 fps option would likely be too slow in the goggles to comfortably fly with.
- 24 fps exports always looks slightly glitchy/ stuttery when the souce footage is recorded at either 30/ 50/ 60 fps even with gyroflow + optical flow + motion blur enabled.
- 120 fps (119.88 fps) conforms great on a 23.976 timeline but is pretty slow and clunky while editing on slower machines because of the larger file sizes.
- 50 fps works awesome when conforming to a 25 fps timeline but 24fps is still the standard for cinema in the west.
- A true 48fps framerate option would give us the sweet spot for flying while rendering the most smooth and cinematic final 24 fps export results.
- It would also allow us to integrate the Avata as a main cam with the motion controller into more professional and cinematic applications which would...
*cough cough* make DJI more money *cough cough*
Cheers!
