Day 1 Mowing Silage | John Deere 6250R & Claas Disco Triple Mowers

Mowing second cut silage with the John Deere 6250R with the Claas Disco mowers.

IIRC Correct this was a Saturday morning and a break in the weather before we had heavy rain again...

New addition to the fleet was the John Deere 6250R with 250 Horsepower dropping grass at ease...

Day 2 Tedding

On a rare sunny day for 2023 McConaghy Contracts tedding second cut grass. Working 13 metres with the Krone KWT 1300 and New Holland T7.210 Auto Command making short work of this ground.

The krone KWT 1300 arrived new with McConaghy Contracts this season being a step up from the previous machine.

Day 3 Raking

BRAND New outta the box that joined the fleet that morning and put straight to work was the John Deere 6140M at Jamison Potatoes sporting Kleber Tyres. Working just ahead of the forager she was raking up silage with the Claas Liner 2900 rake.

Working not far from the home yard R Killen & Sons lifting silage with the Krone Big X 630 with a mixture of Case IH Pumas carting back to the silo...

R Killens run two brands of Harvester with Jimmy preferring the 653hp in the Krone over the Claas

Working on the North Coast David catching up on round baling silage as rain is forecast in 24 hours.

Cracking saturday it was chasing down the Deutz TTV 6185 spitting out all 185hp on the McHale Fusion 3 plus clearing the acres with 30fts of nicely wilted silage.

David is a one man band and has taken me a little bitta time to track down but I can not wait to I get more of the Deutz in action!

Wagon Silage | John Deere 6930 & Krone AX 310 GL | Kerrsbrook Farm

Local dealer McMullan Agri with the demo of the Krone AX 310 GL forage wagon working on a wee hill. Power up front was the John Deere 6930 providing all 155hp being tested with the ever changing slope across the hill.

Kerrsbrook Farm are milking 60 cows via a Lely robot and then the rest of the followers using a wagon allows David time to work around the livestock

Working the clamp was two Volvo Loading Shovels L90 & an L60 keeping ahead of 2 John Deere 9000 series harvesters working very close by. As the light was fading away over looking the river bann.

Due to the short cart as the foragers got closer to the pit both Volvos working well in harmony due to the close proximity to each other...

Which reminds me of a situation where I was sitting in a very long cable car (used to haul iron ore in the past) and I was holding my camera out of the cabin to make some photos without the glass in between and there was a moment of 'what if I will drop it' (because that would mean I would loose it for sure), but I thought : if you never take some calculated risks, you will never get the shot you want to get.
