Not the prettiest of buildings, is it. Nicely filmed though.

While it was interesting I would think that it had design flaws. The canted walls and open roof probably created lots of leaks over the years. But it looks more interesting than your average building.

What an interesting building and even the walls are somewhat angled.  Nice job of documenting this building before it was reconstructed.

I just bought two 3TB hard drive to archival footage on so I'm going to clean up some of my smaller drives and then transfer it all to the 3TB drive.  I'm going to use one drive to back up the other drive.  Hopefully, both don't fail at the same time.

I just went through updating a NAS drive from 4 TB to 8 tb with raid backup. It cost a small fortune and it's already 2/3 full.

I figured doing commercial work that the size of your archived footage would be huge.

And you never throw anything out because you never know if you'll need it for something else.

Great shots and I agree with Bleriot..it's unusual architecture.

It looks lit it will be a plain rectangular building with not much personality. I'm sure it will be more efficient but that's about it.

That's so true.  However, you really have to keep it organized in order to find it later if needed.

Yeah and I bet that was not fun at all.  Kind of reminds me of when I had to go to the law library and research some really old case laws that set precedents.  It was like looking for a needle in a haystack at times.

Film and negatives. In a few short years we went from 2 and4megapixel camears to 100 megapixels. It wasn't  problem until lately. The corporations call it disruptive technology. They keep creating a need for more technology. In this case storage space. We don't need 100 mp cameras on our phones. It just creates a need for more memory.

That's an interesting point that I hadn't even considered.  My Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra has some nice cameras on it but it can fill up a large part of the 512GB storage quickly.  I have to keep it moved off to my 3TB storage drive.  

Wow, that shows the site much better.
Not sure what that architect was thinking though.

I just ordered the 24+ I'm hoping it will work with  the DJI Apps. There is no real difference from the except they are adding AI. I thought the cameras were good. Both of them are supposed to take great pics.

I think I read where the Galaxy S24 line was coming with Android 14 which is what I alrady have on the S23 Ultra and it works without issue on both the Fly App and Mimo App.  I think there is an upgrade to the One UI version from 6.0 to 6.1 but that should not effect the Fly app from running properly.

I also upgraded as I wanted to see what the AI stuff was all about.  I got a confirmation saying I'll get it by January 30th which is a bit weird as the website originally stated a get it by date of January 31st.  Oh well, one day sooner will not make a big difference to me, if in fact it comes a day early.

I switched to T Mobile from Verizon. Verizon wouldnt give me a break on the phone and want me to upgrade my service for more per month. I was paying 250 for 4 lines. I switched and got two phones free and saved 100 per month.

I had Sprint and when it got bought out I just got rolled into TMobile.  Fortunately for me there is a cellular tower about a half mile from me so I get blazing fast data speeds.  I get zero coverage when I take the boat out to sea but that's okay as just prior to leaving I'll turn on my satellite phone service for emergencies.  I have a really nice VHF set up on the boat so it would be rare that I needed sat services but always nice to have a back up for the VHF.

T mobile sent me a demo model to test reception in different areas for two weeks. It seemed the same as verizon.

Good to know you have great wireless coverage in your area.  No doubt you are getting some pretty good data speeds also.

Densely populated areas tend to have plenty of cell towers and great coverage.  It is the rural areas that tend to suffer the most.

NYC has thousands of cell towers. Over 18,000 In the NY Metro Area.

Wow, that is a lot of cell towers.  Some of the newer ones in this area are disguised as trees, flags, etc.  Here's a couple of examples.

I get a kick out of the cacti. They don't even attempt to camouflage the towers here.

Yeah, the cacti do stick out here but would probably fit better into the landscape in Arizona or New Mexico.  The community planners here are really big now on cell phone towers being aesthetically pleasing as possible.  I don't have a preference as long as they provide a nice strong signal I'm happy.
