Upgraded the Firmware on the Inspire 1 and batteries with no issues.  Last FW update (v1.3) failed and I had to send the Inspire in for 7 weeks to the repair center.  

Remote controllers (bot master and slave) say they cannot be updated through the app as instructed, and I have to update them the old way with a usb drive.  Put the micro sd in a usb adapter that I have used in all previous updates, put it in the usb slot and turned on the remote control.  It never acted like it was updating so I checked the sd card for the results.  This is what it says:

The firmware on the SD card is identical to or older than the current firmware on the remote controller

But when I fire up the DJI GO app it alerts me that the firmware for the RC needs to be updated still....

Any input from anyone on what may be happening?  I have already had to send the Inspire in to the DJI repair center TWICE because of factory defects/issues.  A total of almost 3 months and 3 weeks of it sitting at DJI, I sure dont want to have to send it in again so I wont attempt to fly it until I am sure there are no issues.

If anyone knows what the latest version # for the RC controller Is , would be a great help
After updating the Ispire and the IPad , the RC did not seem to take this time
THE VERSION # THAT SHOWING FOR THE RC IS  -- 1.3.00

I don't know if it is the same because you guys already have the 1.3 on it but in the other topic we also had problems with the new firmware and the RC not working.
I found a fix for us but don't know if it works if 1.3 is already on. But the app is saying that everything is allright now !

After that I tried to install the 1.3.0.00 but it did not take.
When I tried a lot of other possibilities I thought as one last hail mary I formatted my usb thumb drive (FAT32) and put the 1.3.0.00 firmware on it.
Then the magic happens, blue light on & beeping like crazy  5 minutes later it all worked again !!!

App version is 2.2.0

Aircraft fw version is 1.4.00.00

RC fw version is 1.3.00

There is no update for the RC this time around.

but on tanblet says i need to upgrade still

If you are on the 1.3.00 firmware, there is no need to update the contorller.

If the App always says there is an RC update, download firmware 1.3.20 for your particular model and use that to update the controller only.

I have not installed the updates yet, I am traveling again and will wait until I return. I still have the beta firmware on my Inspire.

A simple read of the release notes would have saved you getting mad, bro.

Notice:
1. Users may skip updating the remote controller, as the latest firmware update does not affect the remote controller
2. Use this version of firmware to update each of the Intelligent Flight Battery.

Had same issue, I uninstalled the DJI GO app and reinstalled the newer one listed with the 1.4 P3P firmware update and wah-La , it worked!

Not sure where you saw those notes, I was going off the Instructions on how to update the firmware that was included in the zip file.  The instructions goes through the new way to update the RC through the updated DJI GO app instead of the old USB method.  It mentions nothing about not needing to update the RC and the app says it needs updating....

I will attempt to update the RC to the 1.3 version as mentioned in this thread and see if the message in the app goes away.  Very frustrating dealing with the misleading and confusing instructions, but I'm just thrilled that maybe I don't have to ship this thing off to DJI again to get fixed!

Yeah, one thing they do not tell you is that that is a boilerplate instruction manual and not applicable in all FW updates.  If you read the Release Notes that are on the same page as the FW download, you would have seen that there is no RC update.

Again, it is just DJI making a LOT of assumptions.

I formatted the sd card and loaded up the older v1.3 FW.  Both controllers updated with the v1.3 and messages went away on the app.  HUGE sigh of relief, after past experiences I just knew I was going to be packing this thing up again to ship to repair.

I went the "other" route and put the SD card in the camera and ran the USB cable from RC to back of camera. This literally uses the camera as the USB reader. I had success doing it this alternative way.
