Is DJI going to release a firmware upgrade for M300 with support for EU/EASA RemoteID mandatory support as of 01/01/2024?

Hi there, currently, there is no information about whether M300 RTK will support Europe Remote ID. However, for drones that had been sold without the Cx label and are 250 < drones < 25KG, it can be flown under the A3 category without RID, please rest assured.

Thanks for your feedback but no one operates legally a M300 in Open category, under Specific you are required to have RemoteID.

I am sorry that I may not understand your question clearly. May I ask if you were referring to that actually no one will fly in A3 category, or if it is illegal for pilots to fly the drone in the A3 open category without RID?

The M300 is primarily used in applications that now fall under the specific category. Therefore the remote ID will become essential after 01/01/2024.

For A3 everything is fine.

Having the drone classified as C3 is not a problem for making A3 as you understood. However, it would be a plus to have this label, it will facilitate certain administrative procedures.

Open A3 in densely populated area is worthless, you have to ensure 150m ground buffer in your flight area. Open is also forbidden in industrial and harbour area.

RemoteID is mandatory in Specific. Currently M300 supports RemoteID for the US but you can't put your EU/EASA operator ID there.

There is a new FMW released on 2023/12/28. What does it cover?

Added some functions to meet local regulation requirements. is not very explicit about what it does.

I was hoping to see the Remote ID appear, but no!  
To be honest, after updating I don't see the difference.  Apart from the fact that the obstacle detection and avoidance system reactivated on its own, nothing new.
I haven't done a speed test, maybe that's where the change is.

Did you go into the remoteID section and type your operator ID? Previously it didn't accept it.

ps: I can't test at the moment...maintenance

We addressed the remote id in EU problem on M300  to DJI December 2023. They started working on it, but it could take some time. For now we use a external remote id for our M300’s. As far as I know M300 will not get C-rating as the M350.

M300 did not get RID on last update.  Tested on 2 M300. If u dont have specific you can fly on PDRA-s01/02….. (NOT  STS).  But need RID module,  Cost only170€, not a problem.

In Belgium...it's a pain to get the operational authorisation, we are waiting over 2years now for PDRA S01 approval. We use Dronetag RiD but BCAA is asking about possible compatibility issue and test for M300 with Dronetag. So "out of the box" 'd be easier.

How is the drone scene in Norway?

no backmarking for M300 in my opinion...it would be nice if DJI would enable RiD for Specific operations instead of having to rely on third party components

It seems the RID support for all enterprise / M300 is a key request from your enterprise users. Can you resync with dev about this? As mentioned earlier, you support FAA Rid and others...why not EASA/EU customers.

Hello. The hardware inside the M300 fuselage is different and the firmware is not universal. M300 does not need RID and can fly in an open A3 category sub-category environment.
