Following on from my post a few months ago, here is an update on progress on the new McD establishment, right beside the existing Burger King.
Will it be open by Christmas?  Who knows - but they're forging ahead with it now.

I'm not that desperate
I was surprised, when I checked back , that it's 5 months since I last filmed the development.

Another good Pano, Bleriot... they would never allow a Mc'D's next to a BK here, there's some agreement that each establishment must be a good mile or more apart.
BTW, that "Wickes"... is that like a home improvement store? I've seen that here somewhere.

It's quite common practice here - no ssuch restriction. Yes, Wickes is a DIY retail/wholesale store chain.

Great pano Mr. B.    My commiserations to you for having to get a McD built near you.  IMHO they are without a doubt the worst fast food restaurant on the planet.

I'd rather starve than eat a McD.  I will not bore you with all the horror stories about food from that dump.

I noticed there's a lot of solar panels up there as well. And the parapet should hide all the plant from view when it's finished.

Yeah here in states, if you have the political clout and money, you can bar a competitor from setting up on the same street.

I'd never heard of Wendy's. But apparently there's one in Sheffield - about 30 miles from here.

McDonalds Burger King and Wendays are the hig 3 in the Statws. Wendys steams their burgers and they are not reconstituted

I've just Goggled, and am astonished to find that there are 22 outlets in the UK (Sheffield being the nearest)
Looks like they're gaining traction over here

Weve got one day of rain and few of winds but the whole schedule is up in the air due to my back and SWMBOd was supposed to have finished for Christmas but shes doing some off hours here and there which makes planning useless.

It would be fair to say I did too much yesterday.   Although I can blame SWMBOd as shes supposed to be on vacation but shes still putting about 6 hours a day.
