I made this proof of concept video to explain how to connect external HDMI screen on DJI RC.



@DJI: please add this DisplayLink Android driver via next DJI RC firmware update so everyone can use HDMI on DJI RC: https://www.synaptics.com/produc ... ads/android/apk-sla

So this is beneficial to you when you’re flying your drone in your backyard while sitting at your computer desk inside?  I just use my IPad Pro connecting to the standard USB type A.

I made that video as a response to multiple questions I received on how do I connect my DJI RC to my field screen which was connected to another camera at a time, so I used a regular TV instead. The point was not to show how to connect DJI RC to a TV , but to show how to connect DJI RC to any HDMI screen. Imagine a FEELWORLD LUT7S SDI 7 Inch 2200nit field monitor connected to your DJI RC while you fly.

Hi Gamora, Thank you for your reply. Sure DJI RC is not compatible with HDMI out of the box, but if DJI bundles this driver via next firmware update, it will be. I guess that this driver will have to pass several QC checks, but since there are no glitches, artifacts, lag and device slowdowns I guess it is doable.

I've been considering purchasing an additional RC-N controller specifically for this purpose. Can you bind multiple controllers to a single drone? [operate one or another as needed]

Hi, there. Thank you for your interest. Please know that the aircraft doesn't support the dual remote controller feature, however, you can link and switch between DJI RC and DJI RC-N1 one at a time. I hope this information helps. Cheers!

Hi. Even though unlocking is not illegal (as the matter of fact, I think that locking device that you've bought by the manufacturer should be illegal as it prevents you from using its full potential) I will not post that information on this forum as it might void your warranty and is against forum rules.

Even so, you can find that information on Google, Youtube and Telegram.

Actually, its is far from illegal on DJI's part, you want to use the RC in a way that DJI did not intend due to one reason or another, device resources being the main one.

Its also not illegal for you to use it in this manner either as "Jailbreaking" is legal, you may need to check your country's law on this matter though.

i just want to record my flight video stream in 1080p ...

i just want to install driver for hdmi output, there are two type c ports in the rc.

That is quite the hassle.

Such a good and achievable idea. It wouldn’t hurt DJI, Nor would it be difficult for them to include it in a firmware update as an option to anyone who wishes to use it. I can’t believe six months later they still haven’t done anything about it. It would only make a good product better. Might not work for everyone, but I can get 26 satellites in my lounge room. Be awesome if I could use my 55 inch qled instead of my puny little iPhone.

You can't. DJI locked RC and currently there is no way to unlock it.

But the adapter won't work without the driver. Check if you are able to install the driver before buying the adapter.

If you can connect a regular HDMI cable to the XREAL Air 2 Pro, and you are able to install the DisplayLink driver on your RC and obtain a DisplayLink adapter, then yes, it is possible.
