thanks WN1X,   I assumed people would be by now,  Ive probably posted this a few hundred times in the last couple of years,  and Depp even indulged at least once.

Well, I did jump on a New Years resolution early as I made a decision to learn how to play the drums.  I took my first lesson and the instructor said I had good rhythm and picked up the basic drum beats really quickly.  Gives me something else to do but I have no desire to get in a band.

I bought a set of Roland electronic drums.  The neat thing is the frame can fold up so it takes minimal space and they sound really good.

Just had a little google.  they've come a long way since I was last in a music shop.

The sound quality is fantastic and all the drums and cymbals are super adjustable.  Not cheap though.

This is where I should ask if you're wearing headphones to avoid annoying the neighbours but that would be pointless.

That's the great thing - no neighbors for miles.  Although I did buy a practice pad when I just wanted to practice and not be on the actual drums.

You could but then you don't get the active bounce back on the stick hits.  The practice pad is dual sided.  One side is a dull hit and the other side gives a stick rebound just like a real drum skin.
