Thats the East river. The hudson is on the west side of Manhattan

Ah.  The buildings really reminded me of shots of the Hudson I’d seen.  

Great shot.    The pier in the foreground looks like it has expanded a time or two and if so that is an Interesting concept.  Is the building with the lighthouse a restaurant by chance?

The expandable pier is something NYC is doing lately and the building with the lighthouse is either a restaurant or catering hall.

The expandable pier is something NYC is doing lately and the building with the lighthouse is either a restaurant or catering hall.

I really like the idea of using expandable piers.  I had a hunch it might be a restaurant as that would give it a bit off nostalgic feel to the eatery.

We have numerouse waterfront projects planned that will be using them. Looking forward to see what the future holds. It seems like they are looking to build more land on the water. Should be interesting.

That does seem like an interesting concept.  Guess we will just have to see what the future brings our way.

There are quite a few shore build-outs planned. I will try to catch some in the spring.

Are those apartment buildings in the foreground?  Perhaps much newer than the buildings by the pier?

Yes the whole area is newly built. This neighborhood has theLlincoln tunnel right under that football field the goes into NYC.

I don't understand how people are affording these homes. The average home needs at least $200,000 american dollars to finance. per year with about 20% down. small homes are $800,000.

Here too, it's difficult for first-time buyers to get a foot on the property ladder.

The pundits here predict a fall in property prices over the next 12 months, and a rise in rental charges.

Our rentals are so high that only govt. programs can pay for the new rentals. Rel Estate prices have to fall, but Isay that all the tie, and I sell real estate.

Sounds like a project to put on the to-do list for the Spring.  Will be very interesting to see what they come up with for the build-outs.

Yes, I was planning to shoot in this area last month and then I got a job there. Hopefully something will bring me there again in the Spring.

Lately the Government has been giving out too much help. It's creating more inflation and dependency. The younger generation is getting used to free hand-outs. COVID was the start, which we needed, but people are getting to like it. I don't think it's healthy.

That parallels our experience in the UK, I'm sorry to say.
The government has sunk us so far into debt, it will take 3 generations to dig ourselves out of it

We didn't struggle much during the crisis, and if they didn't pay for us to stay home we probably wouldn't have quarantined, so I guess we have to pay the piper for that.. But we are moving more and more toward socialism here. The younger generation seems to be OK with it. I'm too much of an Entrepreneur for that.
