In Staten Island the average lot is 50ft by 100 for a 3 bedroom home. That's standard. Lot's of fences. This one is pushing the boundaries. Usually 10 to 20 ft on each side.

The minimal distance from eave of house to property line has to be a minimum of 10 feet here.  This gives at least 20 feet from eave to eave for side by side houses.  Not really a long distance when you think about how far fire can travel when it is windy and the fire is fully blazing.  

Yeah, those are small lots but since no more land is being made you have to build on what you can I suppose.  

I'm certainly glad I was able to get my own land.  Closest neighbor is about 4 miles away.

That does make sense.  Less densely populated areas with more land available for development.  However, with the urban sprawl is going it will eventually reach out and touch the suburbs.

Things like quality of life, jobs, culture and govt. greed change the living landscape. NYC is getting ridiculous. It's become a sanctuary city, all of our aid is going to people whoare here illegally, crime rates are rising and the city is falling apart. The good people in the area are leaving in droves but they are being replaced for people looking for free opportunity. I don't see the end result as good, but we will see.
