Has anyone tried the latest FW update 01.03.1000 released 27th Dec for the RC Controller? If so, I am curious, have you noticed anything different with options or settings? Myself I haven't tried it yet, I am still running the 14 Nov release 01.03.0700

Other than updating the DJI Fly App I didn't notice anything different for options or settings.

The latest for the mini 3 pro is 01.00.0700 released 26 Sep.  No specific details from DJI other than "fixes known issues"

To answer your question "is it necessary ....." is next to impossible to determine when no specifics are given with their FW updates.  Myself I have the latest FW on the drone.

about the RC controller firmware are you satisfied ? I read someone told the Flyshare function isn't more available .

Seems like I cannot choose H.264 as a coding option anymore.
I wonder if that is what they're referring to when they talk about "fixing known issues"...

I just carried out the latest RC controller FW update 01.03.1000 and so far nil discrepancies noted; H264 on my end is still displayed as an option (myself I utilize H265 for optimum video compression).

It turned out that I had to refresh the firmware twice with DJI assistant 2 for H.264 to reappear.
At first it vanished after picking the cinelike mode.

If you are in the United States and bound by FAA part 107 regulations then technically keeping firmware up to date would be part of your maintenance procedure.
