But I can't see the video. When I clicked on the link, it said Video Is Private, and even the embedded one is private. What do I do to see the video?

Too late to the party as the original video on YouTube is now private.

For reasons unknown to me he has changed the permissions on his video to Private.  It's a shame as those were some remarkable waterfalls.
