That is common here in NL too. Most older railroads were built like that. But in Sweden they did something clever. They made much better railcars, that can go faster on these older tracks.

I don't know why it hasn't caught on here. The government is always bailing out the airlines. I'm sure that has something to do with it.

That is hard to tell, could be lobby, could be personal interest, could be that the investments needed are still too big to make it worthwhile .

I was looking for a clear definition of what we call our roadways, but there isn't a very clear definition.

I know your Interstates are all preceded by a letter I, but that's about it.
That would be equivalent to our M-ways I reckon.

Have you ever heard a Brooklyn Accent. We don't sound to good either.

The most pronounced accent I think is the Boston one.  Here are a few I remember from a trip to Boston:
Make a U-Turn is Bang a U-ey.  Where are you? is Whe-rah ya?  No sir is No suh.  Yes, way is Ya, huh.

I think the Boston dialect was influenced by both the Irish and the Italians that emigrated there.

There's always a monetary and political reason.

They just passed some security plan that bans chinese drones federally from commercial work.  This is not good.

After spending at least 2/3 of my life "Up North" I'm more northern than anything else.
Neither of us has ever heard the other speak, but I'm sure our accents would be markedly different
I imagine he has a London accent.

It only affects work that is done with federal grants so far, but that's the beginning.

I think they can't block it completely. Everybody (almost everybody) has DJI drones.

It seems like there is a cold war going on here since the Chinese government sent some aerial recon balloons over the U.S. I have been stopped myself for flying near the Army corp of Engineers because they don't want Chinese drones near military installations. They were nice about it because I wasn't breaking any rules but there is concern.

Yeah, I read about it.
And I can see why they are suspicious. You never know what they put inside these flying computers with a good camera.

Their concerns are warranted. All the data we give permission for on our flights is on servers in China. If anything ever went wrong it could be an issue.

Yes indeed.
Although I always wonder what they are 'really' going to do with that data. But then again, I'm not informed in those worlds, so I probably don't know

You're probably right about that.  I remember hearing several dialects while visiting most of Scotland years back.  The people in Northern Scotland had a really thick accent.  So I'm sure it is quite the same in England.
