Sunny but cold - the modellers were having fun

Cool. Do they have motors as well? Seemed to me that they were pretty fast for sailing only and going in all directions.

I think they must have, although I couldn't hear anything - the motors may have been silent electric ones.
The ducks and geese were making more noise than that

Looks fun,  but if you loose control I assume you wait for the wind to push it back to the edge?

It was a lovely day, but the wind was sharp as temperatures were only just above freezing.
Back to dull and damp this morning.

Nice find and capture Mr. B.    For the cold weather you are experiencing it's nice to see so many people out with their RC boats.

Especially as I have a pal in Sweden who's wandering about his garden in a T-shirt at minus 12 Celsius.
Dry cold up there - it's not the same feeling at all. Last time I visited you could tell the difference.

I was like that when I was young but my tolerance is definitely getting worse.  -12c though jeez.

Even on a cold day if the sun is shining it somehow makes it worthwhile to venture into the outdoors.  

The ducks look crowded out. Are the sailboats motorized? They seem to be moving to fast for wind power.

Yes I believe so. With a RC to direct the rudder and sails.

The real-life ones put to sail on the larger lake behind this one. No doubt they'll be back out when the weather improves.

It's an interesting hobby. I have seen them in Central Park, but wasn't sure if they also ran on mtors

There are literally hundreds of them whirling arounf constantly - visitors feeding them makes it a popular spot for birds and people alike.

Yeah, would be hard to sail when the lake water is frozen.  That would be time to get out the ice skates.

The ice doesn't generally get thick enough for skating - but at least it's nor particularly deep if anyone should fall in.

That's why they have them in real sailboats. That's why I asked you. Nothing like having to stroll to the other side of the lake because the wind is against you.
