Hi,

I started using proxies in Davinci Resolve and that's when I also discovered the timecode that is written into the video. The following is a 4k60 video from the Pocket 3, in the Timecode stream, I see this:

The start of the timecode is 12:22:06;14. I also noticed that the frame rate is 30fps instead of 60, don't know if that is relevant. This timecode value is also confirmed by FFMPEG. There is also a MJPEG stream with a 90K bit rate indicated by the arrow.

In any case, when you import the clip into Resolve, the Timecode is different as you can see below.

This happens for the 60fps files but not the 24fps ones, the difference seems to be between drop frame vs non-drop frame timecodes.

Do you know what is causing this? I'm about to generate proxies files in a batch and if I did it via Resolve, all the proxy files will have the "wrong" timecode, but if I did them externally like with FFMPEG, then Davinci actually reads the correct timecode from the files and wouldn't work unless I go adjust the timecode manually for every clip which is too laborious.

So there must be something in the original MP4, but I can't tell what is throwing it off. I suspect it is the MJPEG stream as when I strip that, Resolve got the correct timecode but I don't know for sure.

Thanks
  Matt
