Hello, so I work in Birmingham where we have an Apple Store and a DJI shop. I went into both yesterday to discuss the above. In essence, because its being filmed (in my case anyway) in 100FPS, the Photos App on apple products (MacBook, iPhone etc) thinks that 100FPS is a slow motion video because of the amount of FPS. If you shot a slow mo on an iPhone it'd be c120FPS, so that's why it thinks it's a slow mo. We tried a few different MacBooks in the Apple Store and it happened with them all.
If you play the videos through a third party software or iMovie, it keeps it as a 'normal' video. So in short it's a problem with the Photos app on apple and not DJI etc. The people in both DJI and Apple said if you shoot at 60FPS it shouldn't happen but they all agreed it's not a great work around given we want to shoot in higher quality. I haven't raised anything with Apple or know if there's any photos settings to adjust etc but the gent at Apple spent a while trying to see if there was anything and came to the conclusion that there isn't anything you can change, which he admitted wasn't great and apologised!
The people in DJI hadn't come across this issue with anyone else but I did show them this page.
Hope that somewhat helps...! |
