PS I spoke with a SUPer.  They do get punctures from time to time but usually he said you just sit in the middle of the board and the front and rear will lift out of the water allowing you to paddle back.   Then he qualified that answer and said thats for a reputable board,  the ones that comes from supermarkets are prone to catastrophic failure and then you are swimming back.

I also mention about the pumping and he said he had an electric pump but also said the pumping gets you warmed up.
