Yes 278 goes through Brooklyn and Staten Island. The Staten Island part is called that. Because we think we are the center of the universe.

I'm surprised Staten Island doesn't charge a toll for their portion of the road.

The bridge tolls are enough to cripple you. We have four bridges and a ferry .  Starting Sunday, Jan. 8, the cash-by-mail toll will increase from $16 to $17, with the the E-ZPass peak hours toll increasing from $13.75 to $14.75 and the E-ZPass non-peak hours toll increasing from $11.75 to $12.75.

Yikes, that's a sizeable increase and no way to avoid paying them unless you have a helicopter or a boat.

No way off but the ferry but you have to go without a car.

No, but many are doing it. Now that they have lowered the speed limits to 25 mph it's probably faster.

My memories of my last visit to NYC was gridlock.  I could walk faster than the cabs could drive.

It's usually crowded and gridlocked. I try to go off peak.

They are charging higher tolls during rush hour to discourage traffic and increase revenue. It's another money grab.

Thanks, It's one of the easy areas to fly from.It's a cemetery across the street from work. I am getting bored shooting from there, but it's easy access and no one hassles me there.The residents don't seem to mind.

I know what you mean,  I have a few spots like that where people either ignore me or ask questions about the drone,  but after a while I feel like Im stuck in a rut there.

I guess in a way you can't blame then in trying to reduce rush hour traffic.  However, that probably will not work out to well unless companies can accommodate floating start and stop hours.  No doubt also a moneymaker for the local government.

I need to find some new places to fly that are attractive to shoot. I'm feeling that same rut. Winter is challenging.
