Nice Capture. That roundabout could use a lit statue in the middle.

There are some signs in the middle which you can see in the hyperlapse above,  but they are quite small in the shot.

Keep at it.  I wish I had the follow through that you do.  Some days I'm just like what the heck when I should be saying to myself to get out there and walk.  Maybe I'm getting too comfortable in this retirement life.

The keyboard on my Dell XPS17 laptop finally went out about 2 weeks back.  I looked into replacing it but as it is 4 years old all that were available were used keyboards.  Rather than take a chance on one them I just got a new Dell XPS 15.  I needed something a bit more powerful and faster to handle H265.

Ive changed a few dell keyboards in my time for people (and myself ) and they were always a nice easy fix,    finding them here is usually quite easy, they tend to cost about £20 but you do have to be careful to get an English one as there are many foreign ones on the market for some reason.

I had checked out a video on replacing the keyboard and it looked fairly easy.  However, as my laptop was 4-5 years old I just was unable to find a new keyboard.  I found a couple of used ones but at the time I was wanting a bit higher end processor and graphics card so I just upgraded.  Had to custom order from Dell but I got it 10 days after I ordered.

I took the hard drive out and donated it to the local high school IT teacher.  He is always looking for projects for his IT students.

I ordered one a few weeks back but esata rather than USB,   and when it arrived the power supply didnt work.  I got a full refund without needing to return it,   I looked at PSUs for it and the only ones I could find cost the same as the entire unit did so I checked my scrap bin of PSUs and with the cable from the faulty PSU I was able to make something that worked.

Very creative fix.  Nice that you had a parts bin to rob.

Funny thing was when I unsoldered the cable the PSU board was labeled with the voltages which was super helpful and I reused that when putting it back together,  unfortunately the labels on the board were wrong.

I misplaced a multimeter and needed one and couldn't find the one I had so I went and bought a replacement.  2 days later the lost one showed up.  So now I have a back-up but I'm thinking you probably have many back-ups.

Sometimes its useful to be able to measure multiple points in a circuit at the same time,  so I have a few in the workshop,  one in the office and a portable one in my small toolbox that goes to the parents etc every time we visit just in case.   I also have several of those voltage director - like this https://connectec.uk/installatio ... wand-with-led-torch

An electrician left behind this Milwaukee voltage detector.  I called the company and they never sent anybody by to pick it up.  It's been 3 years now so basically I've claimed it.  It is a dual voltage, 10-49 and 50-1000 volts but it does lack a light on it.  It has come in handy a couple of times.

Yep same thing,  they are super handy,  but always test it works before using it,   I keep the one I use the most at home near the distribution board so as I pick it up I walk passed and test it again the board so I know the battery hasn't died etc.

Better to test it before use each and every time to ensure the battery hasn't died during non-use.  I will be doing that from now on.

I like round a bouts.

We have it just as one word here roundabout.   Most people dont like them.  especially the magic roundabouts.
