Spotted   Nice perspective on the slipway - aptly named if they come a cropper on the mossy concrete

It does get very slippery along there,  and the amount of people that drive on to it never ceases to amaze me.

You've mentioned that before - assuming it's the usual spot.

I'm spending a bit of time with the Canon camera now I've joined the photography group.
I sourced a replacement rechargeable battery (Duracel) which is 100% compatible, which gives it a new lease of life.  It's almost 20 years old, but I've looked after it, and it's only had light use, so I'm good to go.
Old technology of course (Compact Flash storage cards)  but the imagery seems  good to my eye.

All of my DSLRs take compact flash.   In my Canon 5d mk4 it also has a second SD card but that can’t be used for video as it’s not fast enough.

Mine's the Powershot Pro1. I don't recall using it for video much at all.

My man Blériot, regarding your Canon, I may not know anything about cameras but I do know this
"They just don't make em' like they used to" and to me "old" is the best!
Enjoy the nostalgia and send me those Canon photos!
BTW, I hear typewriters and phonographs are experiencing a "renaissance."

Ah yes,  I recall that,  it came out about the same time as I got a Canon 300d.   Nice thing with that camera is that all the controls carry over to the DSLR/Mirrorless world.   The top screen on that camera is almost identical to every canon camera since it.

I'm reminded of this image - the original taken with the Canon camera in 2012.

The EOS range had just come out, as I recall, when I got the Pro1.
But I couldn't justify to myself the extra cost at the time.
This was around 2005 if memory serves.

That's probably why. We had a Sony Camcorder at the time for video.
In fact that's gathering dust in the cupboard, still.

I just had a look at the blurb. Apparently they came out in 2004 and were discontinued in 2006. So roundabout then.

I had the 300d and was looking to get another one for the collection,   but the good ones seem few and far between.     I found one that worked with all the bits but all the text on around he buttons was worn off.   Seems people with good ones keep them like you have with the Pro1.

Well the battery is no doubt exhausted, long since.  But they're probably still available.
I ran it off the charging block last year (no - a couple of years ago) and it still works,

It's the age of the throw-away gadgets though, isn't it.

My pleasure DA.

I had a bit of a surprise this morning as I was taking an ATV ride around the perimeter of my property.  When I got near the pond I noticed a 6 foot gator was up against the fence trying to find a way in but after he got zapped the third time by the electric fence he thought better and left.  At least I know my gator proof fence works.

Blériot, love that phonograph..The Adventure Museum of Sound?..can't imagine what kool treasures are in there. I checked out the webpage but it was closed. But got to see a few photos of some their pieces. That's a spot to stop into if I can make it over. BTW, I see we both take care of our "stuff"
I'm really fanatical about keeping everything as close to as I when received it.

The entire perimeter of my property is enclosed with wooden fence posts and barbed wire.  Easy for a gator or really any animal to get under the bottom wire.  However, around my pond no animal can get in unless they fly in or can jump in over a 6 foot tall fence.  The entire way around the pond fence is an electrified fence with chicken wire on the bottom 3 feet.  Here is a sample of the perimeter fence in case you've not heard of barbed wire fence.
