Hi!
Just got my Action 4, love it. Want to use it mainly in hands-free scenarios, this is why I need the Voice Control feature.
It activates lovely, but then there is a message on the screen when the recording activates that Voice Control has been deactivated.
This is why it is not responding to the Stop Recording command. I have to press the button to stop it.
Tried various modes, all the same, what am I missing? (Can share a video of the behaviour if needed.)

the  firmware is the latest, we CAN NOT refresh firmware, and  maybe they can resend one via the App

When 4K 100/120fps and 1080p 240fps video, and a 4K60fps(16:9, with Enhanced Image Quality enabled), 4K/4x and 1080p 8x slow motion video are being recorded, the Osmo Action 4 voice control is disabled and the video voice control is not available. Try to use a different camera resolution and check if the issue persists. Hope this helps.

Too bad that there was no info that the Voice Control is limited to certain modes

For me, 4K/60 is pretty much the standard mode for recording in general. Does that mean that voice control on the OA4 is completely worthless? What were the designers thinking when they implemented this restriction?

4k/60 fps you can use voice control

with mimo app you can start/stop all modes
or use the remote

you can start /stop the camera with the dji mic

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make “STOP RECORDING” an option across ALL RECORDING RESOLUTIONS ASAP!!! It’s very frustrating when you’re trying to take a video and you’re away from your camera and you can’t turn it off and you have to walk all the way to it or in my case when I’m on the water with my kayak, I have to paddle back to the camera instead of just saying “STOP RECORDING” Thank you for making a great camera just hope you listen to us paying customers about a simple software update fix!

Why is this? Seems completely pointless as an option to use now. Unless you downgrade your video you can’t use the feature….. it’s clearly using the mic anyway at 4K 60fps 16/9 there is no need to disable voice control unless it’s a heat issue. And if they say that then all good I don’t want it to overheat. But don’t lie.

Wow. This is very surprising to me that voice control deactivates after starting a recording. I'm using Mic 2 and recording 4k/60, which is what I always use, and it's pretty much the standard now. Hopefully DJI fixes this in a future firmware update.

you can start/stop the camera with the bt tx2 Transmitter ,
also foto ,timelaps and slomo mode
use the pairing button

with mic 1/2  the receiver need the usbc plug
oa4
oa3
a2 ok

oa1 only voice control : 4k/60 fps ok

The whole voice control needs a update.

Cant use it when screen is locked.
Cant use screen with water splashing on screen.

WOW. I just found this. I have been banging my head trying to fix.  I leave for Europe in 4 days for a motorcycle tour. Bought a DJI mic2 just for this function. Guess I will have to use 4K/30fps when riding. NOT a happy camper.

It’s a REALLY stupid thing. I found that mine starts recording but then it deactivates when you are using 4k60p in normal mode. Switch to d-cinelike and it works.

Other resolutions work as well, it’s just 4K 60p I think. Very annoying. And 120)

DJI Osmo Action 4 does have voice control to start and stop recording. Have you try by tapping to enable voice control to use the camera with voice commands? Mandarin, Chinese and English are supported. Voice commands in English include Start Recording, Stop Recording, Take Photo, and Shut Down.

I'd very curious to understand why voice control needs to be disabled with some modes.
Only explanation I can think of is related to resources on the camera, freeing some RAM or processor time by shutting down voice control, but that's weird. And what else is disabled in these modes ??

Some recording specifications/modes occupy more hardware performance, so some functions will be disabled. You can start recording with voice control, but voice control is not available during shooting in the above modes.

Sounds like VC is  not yet functional for this camera if it starts out working and other features over ride it.   back to the drawingb oard or will it work perfect on the Action 5

Very strange. Its 2024 and still can not Stop command? Seriously?

What the heck? just got my DJI Action 4 and it deactivates voice control as soon as you start recording with your voice. Half working = broken. Please fix. Disappointed

You have to change the Color Setting from Normal to D-Log.   Then the 4k/60FPS voice control will not be disabled after you start recording.

voice control will not work with normal color.  or you go w 4k/50FS and it works.  

its a "feature" not a bug!

Same. I've just upgraded from Gen One where I used voice control daily. Now I can activate OA4 with voice, but a message on screen reads 'Voice Deactivated', What's with that?

It's a bug and it's a dumb bug. What's the use of voice activation if it turms off while recording? Doesn't make sense. DJI upgrade please
