The fifth day of my England journey starts at Hereford, crossing the River Wye for a flight around the cathedral. After the Welsh destroyed the first cathedral in 1056 the present building was built from the 12th to the 14th century.
Edvin Loach Old Church from the 11th century was used until around 1860 when the church right next to it was build.
Leigh Court Barn was supposed to be closed but wasn't - a barn from the early 14th century for wares of Pershore Abbey.
Worcester Cathedral is even more beautiful than Hereford - it was built after the old church was pulled down in the late 11th century and sports a big crypt from that era. The octagonal chapter house is a special treat.
Witley Court is a grand mansion from around 1850 incorporating older parts. A terrible fire in 1937 destroyed most of it.
Right next to it is the parish church of Great Witley with a surprisingly grand interior.
Wigmore Castle is a great place to fly - and slide. There was a sign advising against climbing the motte but I didn't see it because I went around the back. So going back down I took a slide down...
Stokesay Castle is a real gem and one of my favorite castles: Pretty much fully intact it was more mansion than castle. The oldest parts go back to the early 13th century.
Hopton Castle was another tip of Pinned on Places (see their YT channel...) from around 1300.
Clun Castle, started shortly after 1066, sports great remains of a big tower and extensive earthworks.
Mitchell's Fold Stone Circle is reached after a short walk and is well worth it. More than 3.000 years old there are still 15 of the probably 30 original stones left.
Halesowen Abbey is hard to reach (even with a drone) and part of a working farm.

Magnificent compilation.  Very nice collection of castles and cathedrals.    I love seeing old castle and cathedrals.  

My next trip back to UK I need to revisit the Lincoln Cathedral.  That was my favorite castle to visit but I didn't have a camera with me last trip.  So that's a must re-visit for me.
