A work trip on Thursday into Friday afforded a 'blue hour' opportunity to fly the DJI MINI3 Pro early on Friday morning, a little wind and cold, but the pre-dawn sky and reflective buildings of the Winnersh Triangle (on the outskirts or Reading) bade me to fly and see what I could see...

It was only a very short flight, 6 minutes all told, but sufficient to give me some footage to have a play with and put together a short video that may inspire others to take a look at places they have nearby and try and do something similar - or better!

Yeah, I need to mix it up a bit and try new things, and I cant get to Scotland atm, so its a case of fly when the weather is ok and see what I can do...

WHile the weather has been miserable, I've been fiddling about with LUTs to try and enhance some D-Cinelike video I've shot.  I'm not sure it's worth the effort. Natural light seems to give better results.
Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but the results I produce look un-natural.

Not tried dlog yet, tbh after I grade the normal footage it comes out fine, so I dont see a need to Dlog it atm... And those viewing my video's dont have any issues with it...

I've just taken the same D-Cinelike clip, and instead of applying a LUT, I've colour-graded it manually in DAvinci Resolve.
Although I say it myself, it looks better than any of the LUTs I tried.

Lovely blue hour footage.    Never hurts to search for targets of opportunity nearby.

You're welcome.  I've learned over the last year or so that things look so much different from an aerial view and I've seen and found things while flying that I would never notice from ground level.

Aye, finished a belated woodturning project for a friends birthday yesterdya, not perfect, perfectly cceptable and appreciated by ur friend, a 2 banded lighthouse, with a tealight holder for the lamp..

Today is another overdue project, convetting a folding log store - that we use to bring the logs in before stacking in the metal log holder - from fabric - which at 5 years old has become tatty and ripped - to a bespoke tooled leather version... Just got to paint the deer's head and then seal it all before I can sew it together...

This was the lighthouse - pringles can for scale..

Lol, not this morning... Hubby has his coffee black, so at weekends has a wee dram in it, usually scotch.. I prefer a cappucino, so no spirits in mine, and definitely not when crafting..

On a rare occasion I will start off the morning with a little hot toddy.  Once in a while I might do a Kahlua and coffee.  All depends on what my plans are for the day.  If I'm going on a scuba dive that day, no alcohol before the dive.  In all my years in the Navy I can't tell you how many gallons of coffee I consumed.  It seems the Navy ran on coffee and we never ran out.
