I have seen the DIY jobs, but has anyone come across an action cam extension rod that has a built in phone mount down by the handle? I have an older PGYTech one but it has a proprietary screw adapter that I have lost and does not appear available any more.

Can I tell you how frustrating is that I can't house the old OP extension road and that they haven't created a replacement for the OP3?

Indeed, I look forward to the day when the offical extension rod is releassed, if it ever comes.   I guess it will depend on whether the camera can be controlled by physical buttons on the rod via the USB-C port. Meanwhile I did buy a PGYTech device but I don't like it much - the head is a bit wobbly.  Anyway, here is the link which may or may not work for you -

Ah.  I did wonder.  But the waggling of the rotating head did trouble me.  Admittedly thia was when using the camera in a ScottyMakesStuff case which made it somwwhat heavier and more likely to waggle.  But I am not enough troubled by that to sell you mine, sorry!  

Have you sent an email to PGYTech and see if they can provide a replacement screw?

Interesting, but needs other stuff added to attach the Pocket 3 - I'm not sure if you would end up with something better than other put-together solutions.  But it you get it, it would great if you could let us know how it goes.

Thanks to you, I have this extension handle, and I absolutely love it! Have you noticed the mount for the phone rotates? I love that it does! This extension handle fits the bill!

I'm rolling with this until DJI decides to make one for the P3.
