Swanton Morley weir 28th January
River level had dropped a little but the flow was faster, sorry, its a bit long, I whittled it down to under 12mins from about 2hrs lol
Yeah, it is, it's about 45mins away though :/
There's 1 about a mile away but it's too dangerous at present as the sluice is open creating a foam pile, the foam means the paddle has far less resistance thus not being as effective, a bit like paddling in the air. Weirs or Low Head Dams are dangerous as they are without compounding the issue. It will be the spot where i will use the drone to film me playing once it calms down some

I dont know about a knack, it was quite scary the last time i went but this time i knew what to expect and really enjoyed it
Sounds like you've built up your confidence at that location. It did look challenging but also fun.

Just so long as the drone doesn't finish up paddling as well.

Tis my major concern too, its only a thought at the moment, something i would like to do, it may never happen lol but, never say never...

Certainly fun, just need to keep up the courage for the next white water course near London, gonna wait till it warms up a bit though lol
I have no doubt you'll conquer that course also. Just keep the PMA and you'll do just fine.

Thank you, i really hope so as it will mean i can use the course whenever i like, just need to get this course out of the way and pass the assessment
Best of luck on the assessment but I'm confident you'll do great.

I'll be looking for the footage of that event. Heck, I'll even drink a beer or two to celebrate when you complete the assessment.
Ha ha, thanks, the only issue i may face is that they don't allow action cameras in case they are lost in the water, that said, i have watched many videos from Lee Valley White Water Center so i will deffo try, i always use a tether around my helmet chin strap locked using a wee D-shackle anyway so no chance of it going anywhere, plus there are many, many videos from the center so its obviously not a rule thats strictly enforced but knowing my luck lol
BTW, if you can ignore the music lol here's a video (not mine) from the Legacy course i will be doing,
there is also an Olympic run, much harder and it was purposely built for the Olympics in 2012 (i think it was), its now one to the public unless they have comps on
