It turned out to be a cool but pleasant day,  back to winds and overcast Skys today.

Sun is out here but I see quite a few clouds in the sky and my owl kite if blowing in the winds.

It's been fair today, here. Great for a bracing walk over the hills. I'm fagged out now though.

I did a short one this morning,  then shopping and some cooking,   polished the car and then finished off a 10 mile walk for my February challenge of 14x 10.3 mile walks.

My goal currently is Beating the Bounds of our parish  - 18.1 miles according to the map.
But it's up hill and down dale  over rough and muddy cart tracks as well as better paths.
I shall have to do it in several segments rather than all in one go.

Windy enough here to bring out the kite surfers.  Had to be at least a dozen or more.

Is that like the perimeter of the area?    18 miles is not to be snipped at.

Yes, it's the Parish Boundary. There's a thumbnail map showing the route, which I've followed as closely as possible.

I did the one around Canvey Island last year a few times,  its less than that at about 15 miles by the time I walk to canvey and back,    that route is mostly flat and still its a bit of a slog at the end,  so with hills it would probably kill me at the moment.   Something to work up to me thinks.

Yes, on the flat I could possibly do the full circuit. But the hills, mud and uneven ground, coupled with biting winds at times, make some of it really hard going.
I shall have to do it in sections I think.

One particular section is actually like a stream bed at the moment - it does wash the mud off your boots though

We saw one going out this morning at low tide,   he was quite smart as he used the board upside down until he got to deep enough water to use it,   not seen them do that before.

I've recce'd the area, and I can take a bus to 3 fairly handy points to access the route in stages.
That breaks it up into four manageable chunks.
